Doely, Tschetter Pace Bethel’s Offense in 76-55 Win over Stevens Point

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Double-double performances from sophomore forward Zach Doely and senior forward Jaren Tschetter paced way for the Bethel University men's basketball team's 76-55 win over Wisconsin-Stevens Point inside the Robertson Center

Doely tallied a game- and career-high 20 points and 10 rebounds while Tschetter added 17 points and career-high 11 rebounds. Freshman guard Myles Coleman contributed 18 points and six rebounds off the bench.

Bethel never trailed in Wednesday night's non-conference matchup with the Pointers. A nice transition bucket with great vision from Gabe Siler finding a cutting Tschetter gave the Royals a double-digit lead at the 12:08 mark in the first.

The lead stayed in double digits most of the way as BU held its largest advantage of the half at 31-18 with 4:33 to go thanks to a layup from Doely. A three ball for the Pointers in the final 30 seconds cut the Bethel lead to 37-28 at the break.

The Royals defense limited the Pointers to a lone free throw in the first five and a half minutes of the second. A steal and a layup by Coleman bumped the Royals margin into the 20s where it stayed for the next three minutes.

BU weathered its first setback of the night with a 3:42 scoring drought where the Pointers went on a 13-0 run. A layup from Coleman stopped the damage going on to score the Royals final eight points.

Dominating the inside game, BU led the points in the paint battle, 46-22, while getting 28 points from its bench compared to UWSP's 16.

Getting its first crack at a MIAC opponent, Bethel welcomes Gustavus Adolphus to Arden Hills Saturday at 3 p.m.
