ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The No. 20th-ranked Bethel University volleyball team cruised to a three-set MIAC victory over Macalester on senior night winning by scores of 25-18, 25-6, 25-14.

Rylee Forshee and
Emma Carlson.

The Royals hit a season best .463 while earning its 20th victory for the third time in six seasons, excluding the shortened COVID-19 season. With 10 different players recording a kills,
Danielle Friedges led all attackers with 10 kills while
Emily Rossing,
Natalie Hallstrom and
Grace Solberg added seven each.

Five ties in the first 10 points combined of the opening set saw a kill from Friedges give BU a lead the rest of the way. Along with Friedges, the Royals gave some attention to
Emily Rossing who tallied five kills in the set on eight swings.

Bethel's best attacking set came in the second where they hit .303 with 18 kills on 27 swings and one error.
Allie Fauth, Hallstrom and Solberg all had four kills in the set while BU tallied three blocks holding Macalester to six points.

The Royals closed it out in the third hitting .486 led by Friedges with six kills. Bethel's defense held Macalester to a .143 hitting percentage in the set while coming up with 20 digs.

A share at minimum of the MIAC regular season title is on the line Saturday evening as the Royals host Hamline. The two teams along with Gustavus Adolphus all enter Saturday with a 9-1 MIAC record.
