EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The Bethel University men's tennis team was able to split a pair of non-conference matches Saturday falling to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 9-0 before defeating Edgewood College 8-1.

Bethel had a rough go against the Blugolds in the opener. Sophomore
Erik Beckers was at No. 2 singles and lost a nail biter in three sets after splitting the first two by identical scores of 6-3.
Zach Kantor and
Joey Mueller were placed at No. 2 doubles and played a tough match but eventually fell 8-6.

After a tough loss to Wisconsin-Eau Claire the Royals were able to have a big bounce back win against Edgewood.

BU was able to show its dominance by sweeping the doubles matches.
Luke Wyly and
Tyler Creelman had a great No. 3 doubles match winning 8-2.

The Royals continued their dominance in singles play winning five out of six matches.
Zach Kantor,
Jacob Lukkarila, and
Andrew Jenson all won in straight sets and did not drop a game during their second set.
Tyler Creelman squeaked out an opening set win in a close tiebreaker before taking the second set 6-4.
