Box Score ST. PETER, Minn. – The Bethel University men's tennis team competed well as they took on No. 20 Gustavus Adolphus College Saturday morning but fell 9-0. The Royals were able to stay tough with one of the best programs in the country and look to move forward as the season moves along.
Doubles
Bethel was unable to take a match in doubles play but had some competitive matches. Both No 1. and No. 2 doubles were able to win four games against a powerful Gustie team leading to two 8-4 defeats.
Singles
BU fought hard in singles but were unable to take a match from Gustavus dropping all six matches. Junior
Joey Mueller played tough and won three games in both sets before eventually falling 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6 singles.
Sophomore
Erik Beckers was able to keep it close at No. 2 singles winning two games each set before taking a 6-2, 6-2 defeat.
Sophomore Jason Riley was also able to take two games in each set as the young Royals look to gain some valuable experience.

The Royals look to rebound on Saturday, Feb. 22 as they take on the Cardinals from Saint Mary's University at Baseline Tennis Center at 7 p.m.
