FRIDLEY, Minn. – The Bethel University women's tennis team were perfect Friday night against Northwestern College (Iowa). The Royals were able to show their dominance as they went for the clean 9-0 sweep.
Doubles
The Royals started the day off right sweeping all three doubles matches. The dynamic duo of
Maggie Riermann and
Grace Riermann were able to storm to an 8-1 victory at the No. 1 doubles spot.
Mackenzie Novak and
Sydney Rott did not drop a game at No. 2 doubles as they were able to take care of business against the Red Raiders finishing 8-0. Following right in line were
Meghan Schuler and Ingrid Goldstand as they also did not drop a game on the way to an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Singles
BU did not slow down when it was time for singles play as it swept Northwestern in all six matches. The No. 1 singles spot was held down strongly by sophomore
Grace Riermann as she won 6-0, 6-0.
Senior
Meghan Schuler and freshman Rylee Scgurman also had some fantastic play, both only dropping one game to the Red Raiders each finishing 6-0,6-1 at No. 5 and No 6 singles. Junior
Maggie Riermann was able to keep her winning ways going as she was able to sweep her first set before finishing 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.

The Royals will take their winning ways to Owatonna Tennis Club next Saturday, Feb. 21 as they prepare to take on the Oles from St. Olaf at 6:30 p.m.
