Women's Tennis Claims 7-2 Victory at St. Olaf

The Bethel University women's tennis team was able to grab a convincing win against conference foe St. Oaf Friday evening, 7-2.

Doubles
The Royals began the day off by taking two of three of the double matches. The No. 1 doubles pair Maggie Riermann and Grace Riermann were able to take their match 8-4 continuing their winning ways. The only loss on the day for doubles came at No. 2 doubles where Mackenzie Novak and Sydney Rott battled all the way until the end but unfortunately lost a heart breaker 8-7.

Ingrid Goldstrand and Meghan Schuler were able to finish the doubles part of the day off right. The freshman-senior combo took care of business with an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.

Singles
BU carried their momentum into singles play only dropping one match to the Oles. The No. 1 singles spot was dominated by sophomore Grace Riermann as she won 6-1, 6-0.

Junior Mackenzie Novak also had an outstanding outing only dropping one game as well. Novak was able to keep her hot streak going as she won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

Senior Meghan Schuler had some drama in her second set winning it in a tiebreaker and refusing to drop a set. She was able to pull out a 6-0, 7-6 victory at the No. 6 singles spot.

Up Next
The Royals will take on another conference opponent next weekend as they battle Concordia College on Saturday, Feb. 29 at Baseline Tennis Center beginning at 6 p.m.
