SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Bethel University women's hockey team traveled to Superior, Wisconsin for a rare Tuesday night contest and was sent home scoreless, falling 1-0 to the UW-Superior Yellowjackets. The Royals offense had been clicking in their three previous games to start 2020, setting or equaling season highs in goals scored in each game, but on Tuesday the Yellojackets stopped all 23 of Bethel's shots. Freshman goaltender
Baleigh Shuck made 17 saves on the night but the lone score, coming late in the second period, was all UWS needed to take the victory.
Bethel spent just over three of the final seven minutes of the third period on the power play, including the final 1:06 with a two skater advantage after pulling the goalie, but despite multiple shots were unable to get the equalizer goal. The Royals outshot UWS 23-18 on the night.
UW-Superior improved to 9-2-1 on the season with the victory while Bethel falls to 4-9-0. The Royals return to MIAC action this weekend when they travel to Minneapolis to take on the Augsburg University Auggies on Friday night before hosting Augsburg on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Bethel University Arena.
