SARTELL, Minn. – The No. 40 Bethel University women's tennis team picked up a 9-0 victory over Saint Benedict Saturday evening. The Royals improved to 14-2 overall and stays perfect in MIAC play at 4-0.
Bethel started out strong with all three doubles win. Regionally ranked
Maggie Riermann and
Grace Riermann took the No. 1 doubles match 8-2.
Mackenzie Novak and
Jill Weinzettel at No. 2 and
Sydney Rott and
Meghan Schuler at No. 3 both took their matches by a score of 8-3.
The Royals took every singles match in straight sets.
Grace Riermann notched the top singles by scores of 6-1 in each set.
Maggie Riermann took No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-2 before Novak won No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-1.
In the bottom half of the lineup, Weinzettel won No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-2. Rott took No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-1 while
Hayley Helberg 6-2, 6-1.
Bethel takes on St. Catherine University next Friday, April 12 in St. Paul at 4 p.m.
