Bethel Volleyball Wins Fifth Straight With 3-1 Victory over Carroll

STEVENS POINT, Wis.—Bethel volleyball traveled East to Stevens Point, Wisconsin to take on Carroll University on day one of the Pointer Invitational. The Royals (5-1) overcame a first-set loss to the Pioneers (3-2) and went on to win by a final score of 3-1 (22-25, 25-16, 25-14, and 25-13). 

BU came close in the first set of the evening with a final score of 22-25, but they did not let it stop them. Instead, the Royals came back to win the next three sets. Bethel stacked up 64 points on 45 kills, 11 aces, and seven blocks while gaining 44 assists and summoned up a killer 70 digs. 

Brooke Olstad ended the night with 12 kills and three blocks, while Hannah Wilhite tallied 25 assists. Rylee Forshee led the Royals with 16 digs, while Allie Fauth collected 11 and Ellie Hoyt 10. Maria Claflin recorded four blocks and Karin Cancakes and Brooke Olstad had three blocks each. 

Bethel continues their season with two more matches at UW-Stevens Point on Saturday, September 8. The Royals take on Concordia University at 10 a.m and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at 2 p.m. in the Pointer Invitational.
