ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel University men's soccer team fell victim to a pair of quick scores midway through the first half by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers in losing 2-0. On a picture perfect fall afternoon at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex, the Royals put up a good effort against the unbeaten Pioneers but UWP scored goals in the 24th and 36th minute to take the victory. Bethel put six shots on goal but all were stopped by the UWP goalie, four in the second half as Bethel tried to mount a comeback.
The loss moves the Royals to 3-6 overall while UW-Platteville improves to 5-0-1. Bethel's next action will come back at home on Tuesday afternoon when they host the Saint Mary's University Cardinals at 4 p.m.
