ST. PAUL—Bethel University's women's tennis team faced off against Hamline University Friday night. The Royals (14-4, 7-2 MIAC) dominated the Pipers (8-9, 1-8 MIAC) en route to an 8-1 win.

The Royals swept doubles play, winning all three matches handily.
Maggie Riermann and
Mattie Kidder took an 8-2 win in the No. 1 match, while
Mackenzie Novak and
Jill Weinzettel won No. 2 doubles 8-4.
Sami Hindt and
Mattie Lubben finished it off with an 8-2 win of their own.
Aside from one setback, BU had their way in singles play, winning five of six contests. Novak didn't lose a game as she won the No. 2 match 6-0, 6-0. Weinzettel and Kidder also got straight set wins by scores of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-1, respectively. Hindt and
Meghan Schuler each tallied 6-1, 6-0 victories to give Bethel the 8-1 final.

BU's next match is Saturday, April 27 against Gustavus Adolphus College. This match will double as Senior Day for Bethel and is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Ona Orth. The Gusties are the top team in the MIAC with a 6-0 conference record and are ranked No. 5 in the Central Region.
