Â
The afternoon match started with doubles as No. 1 doubles team
Maggie Riermann and
Mattie Kidder won 9-7 while
Mackenzie Novak and Jill Weinzetell took the No. 2 match 8-6.
Â
Heading into singles play with the lead, BU was just not able to hold off the Tommies as they stole just enough matches to put away BU. Despite the loss, Riermann continued her strong day with a 6-1, 6-0 dominating performance in No. 1 singles.
Sami Hindt also got a win in a tight match at No. 5 singles with the final being 4-7, 7-5, (11-9).
Â
Having already clinched a playoff berth, the Royals look to get some positive momentum rolling when they take on Hamline University on Friday, April 27. BU will travel to St. Paul for the match, which is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. The Pipers currently sit at .500 on the year and tenth in the MIAC rankings.
