ARDEN HILLS, Minn.—Bethel University women's tennis is headed to the postseason for the third consecutive season as they locked up a playoff spot with their win against St. Catherine University Saturday afternoon. The Royals (13-3, 6-1 MIAC) utilized a doubles sweep to defeat the Wildcats (10-4, 3-4 MIAC) by a final score of 8-1.

In the second half of a back-to-back, the Royals asserted themselves throughout the match.
Maggie Riermann took No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-3, while
Mackenzie Novak battled out a 3-6, 6-4, (10-6) victory in the No. 2 match.
Jill Weinzettel,
Mattie Kidder, and
Sami Hindt all won their singles matches in straight sets by scores of (6-4, 6-1), (6-0, 6-1) and (6-2, 6-1), respectively.

Doubles play saw the Royals continue their dominance over the Wildcats. No. 1 doubles went to Riermann and Kidder by a final of 8-3 while Novak and Weinzettel won the No. 2 match 8-4. Hindt and
Mattie Lubben finished out the day with an 8-5 win for BU in No. 3 doubles.

The Royals look to finish out the regular season strong heading into playoffs with just three matches remaining. Next on the slate for BU is a huge match against the University of St. Thomas on Tuesday, April 24 at 4 p.m. at Ona Orth Complex. The Tommies currently sit atop the MIAC standings with a 7-0 conference record. Â
