ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel University men's soccer team dropped their home opener by a 4-0 score against the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets Wednesday afternoon. The loss was the second of the season as the Royals fall to 0-2-1 while UWS improved to 2-1.
The Royals had good chances in the first half, including a
Connor Miller bicycle kick that was just wide, but could not put anything in the net. The Yellow Jacket's first shot on goal was put in the back of net by Hugo Roos on a header off of a corner kick in the 22
nd minute. The score remained 1-0 into halftime as UWS held a slim 6-5 shot advantage.
The Yellow Jackets dominated control of the ball in the second half as Bethel did not get a shot off and UWS scored three additional goals to take the 4-0 victory.
Bethel will turn their attention to a trip north as they will take on the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota on Saturday before crossing the border to take on Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin on Sunday.
