NORTHFIELD, Minn. — Bethel University's volleyball team saw their four-match win streak come to an end Saturday afternoon when falling to St. Olaf College by a final score of 3-1. The Royals (11-3, 3-2 MIAC) opened the contest with a 25-21 victory over the Oles (13-6, 4-1 MIAC), but St. Olaf stormed back to win the second, third, and fourth sets by final scores of 25-22, 25-19, and 25-14.

BU finished with 47.0 points on 38 kills, two aces, and seven blocks, while also recording 37 assists and 67 digs throughout the weekend matinee.

Bethel led 20-8 in the opening frame, but St. Olaf rallied to make it 23-20 before BU closed out the game with a 25-21 win. That rally in the first sparked the Oles in the second, as they jumped out to a 7-2 lead, which turned into 20-12, and finally 25-22.

The Royals led the Oles 17-14 in the third, but St. Olaf got into a rotation that manufactured a 9-0 run and later closed out a 25-19 win in the decisive third set. The Oles then jumped out to a 13-5 lead in the fourth, which was more than enough to push St. Olaf to a 25-14 victory.

Kristin Stern led Bethel with 13 kills, three blocks, and a .265 hitting percentage.
Brooke Olstad collected eight kills and nine digs, while
Macie Gavic finished with five kills, three blocks, and a .235 hitting percentage.

Bailey Israelson led BU with 19 assists alongside 11 digs, while
Mikayla Morrow tallied 15 assists and four digs.
Dominique Dabu recorded a team-high 18 digs, while
Tina Hoppe was right behind with 13.

The Royals will try to rebound next Friday when they travel to St. Joseph, Minn., to face the College of Saint Benedict. First serve between Bethel and the Blazers is scheduled for 7 p.m.Â
