Bethel Football Welcomes 37 Newcomers

ARDEN HILLS—The incoming football class for the 2017 season is now complete. The talented group of newcomers hail from nine states and 30 high schools. The 35 freshman and two transfers, along with the 66 upperclassmen, will report for camp on Friday, August 11 with their first game slated for Saturday, September 2 when they host the University of Dubuque in a rematch from the 2016 season opener.

"Excitement reigns for 2017," commented head coach Steve Johnson. "This is based on the fact that we are relatively young, but also experienced. We have some guys returning who have been injured and other guys who have been waiting in the wings. This is true every year, but this team has excellent young players who know what it takes to compete in our league and beyond. We will have a different defensive scheme that will allow us to pressure the opposing quarterback while being fundamentally sound."
