Bethel University head track and field coach
Andrew Rock announced that
Kevin Rengo has been hired to be the newest assistant on the Royals' staff. Rengo, who was most recently the head coach at Ripon College the last four seasons, has seven years of Division III coaching experience and numerous individual success stories. In total, Rengo has coached 29 school-record holders, 18 conference champions, six NCAA national qualifiers, three All-Americans, and one national champion.

"His passion for Bethel's culture and the sport of track and field is evident and he will impact our student-athletes in a major way. Kevin brings four years of head coaching experience and his wealth of knowledge in the field events has resulted in exceptional performances. Â He is a man of strong character and brings joy and enthusiasm to everything he does."

While coaching at Ripon, Rengo coached, 72 All-Midwest Conference athletes, 15 conference champions, four NCAA national qualifiers, and one national champion. Additionally, Rengo helped his athletes break 19 school records.

Prior to Ripon, Rengo was an assistant at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul from 2012-2014. While with the Eagles, Rengo coached two school record-holders, two UMAC champions, 10 All-Conference recipients, and one NCCAA All-American. He also spent one year at UW-River Falls, where he was the assistant cross country coach as well as the strength and conditioning coach for track and field.

Rengo acquired a Masters of Education in Applied Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He and his wife, Jenna, have one daughter named Kora.
