Klamm, Olsen Set All-Time Marks

RESULTS

ST. PAUL—The school record-breaking performances of Carl Klamm and Karl Olsen highlighted the Royals' showing at Hamline University's Meet of the Unsaintly Saturday.

Klamm torched the field in the 400-meter dash, winning in a time of 47.50. Teammates Patrick Klamm and Isaac Erickson finished 2-3, crossing the line in personal best times of 48.68 and 48.75, respectively.

C. Klamm's time is the fourth-fastest in DIII and the best in the MIAC. P. Klamm's and Erickson's times rank second and third in the conference.

Olsen recorded a dominating win in the 200 meters, running 21.70, the third-fastest time in the MIAC. The victory was Olsen's second of the day. Earlier, the sophomore combined with Shawn Monroe, P. Klamm and Erickson to win the 4x100-meter relay in a season best mark of 42.19.

David Huffman provided perhaps the biggest surprise of the meet, dropping a whopping 3.22 seconds off his personal best in the 800-meter run. Huffman finished fourth overall in 1:54.09, the seventh-best time in the MIAC.

Phillip Anderson set a new personal best in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing third in 57.34. That time ranks the junior ninth in the conference.

Next up for the Royals is the MIAC championship meet, Friday-Saturday, May 12-13 at Hamline University.
