ARDEN HILLS, Minn.— After coming off a heartbreaking loss to Wisconsin-La Crosse last Saturday, the Royals rallied to a 6-3 victory against Saint Mary's University in their 2017 home opener. This win improves Bethel's overall record to 13-4 and their conference record to 2-3 on the season. The Royals earned Saturday's win by capturing two of the three doubles matches and four of the six singles matches.Â

Bethel won No. 1-4 singles this afternoon, with
Meghan Schuler losing a tight match at No. 6 singles in a third set tiebreaker. No. 1 singles player
Mattie Kidder put on a great performance as she won 6-2, 7-6 (4). Kidder was followed by
Sydney Parkinson at No. 2 singles as Parkinson won 6-3 and 6-4. Kidder and Parkinson continued their winning as they teamed up at No. 1 doubles to win 8-2. No. 3 and No. 4 singles players
Jill Weinzettel and
Sami Hindt handled their own as they won by scores of 6-1, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-1, respectively. Later Weinzettel and Schuler joined up for No. 3 doubles to win 8-3.  Â

The Royals will continue conference play next Saturday as they travel to the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn. The meet is scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m.
