ST. PETER, Minn. - The Bethel University women's hockey team found themselves in a 4-0 hole at No. 7 Gustavus Adolphus College before scoring a pair of late goals but it was too little, too late, in the 4-2 loss. Just like Friday night the first period was scoreless but the Gusties were able to pull away with a pair of second period scores and two more in the first half of the third period. Bethel's goals both came within the last three minutes of the game. Emma Johnson scored at 17:37 followed by Abby Felton with just 44 seconds remaining.
The contest featured just three total penalties and neither team scored on the power play opportunities. Maggie Straka made 30 saves in net for Bethel as Gustavus held a 34-18 shots on goal advantage.
The loss drops Bethel to 3-6-1 and 1-4-1 in the MIAC while Gustavus is now 6-1-1 and tied at the top of the MIAC at 5-1 with Hamline.
