Stern Voted MIAC Hitter of the Week for the Third Time this Season
The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) announced its Athlete of the Week award winners in football, volleyball, soccer, and hockey, on Monday. Included among the honorees was senior middle blocker
Kristin Stern, who earned the conference recognition for the third time this season and fifth time in her career. Stern recorded 48 kills and 19 blocks in 13 sets last week, while hitting .298 as Bethel went 2-0 against Conference foes to surge into the MIAC Playoffs for the fourth straight year.
Stern recorded 13 kills and two errors in 31 attempts (.355), while finishing with five total blocks against Carleton. She followed that with 20 kills and four errors in 48 attempts (.333), while recording seven total blocks against No. 14-ranked Northwestern. In the final regular season match of her career, Stern composed 15 kills and five blocks in 45 attempts (.222), while also posting seven total blocks.
