Provost's Score on Senior Day Highlights Bethel's 3-1 Loss to St. Thomas

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel University women's soccer team saw the University of St. Thomas pull away in the second half to take a 3-1 victory in the season finale at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex. On a cold last day of the season the Royals and Tommies came out hot with each team scoring withing the first 20 minutes of the game. UST used a pair of second half goals however to take the win over Bethel.

St. Thomas first score came just six minutes into the game. The Royals responded with a score by senior Samantha Provost, her third of the season, to make it 1-1 in the 18th minute. The rest of the half was scoreless as the game was very evenly played. UST held a slim 7-6 shot advantage and 4-1 in corner kicks. The second half proved to be a different story as St. Thomas outshot Bethel by a 10-1 margin while scoring twice for the 3-1 final score. Kaylee Peterson made five saves in net for the Royals.

The loss ends Bethel's season with a 9-7-2 overall record and 4-6-1 in the MIAC. Unfortunately for the Royals they will not be makin a return trip the MIAC playoffs. Along with Provost, senior Alicia Halikas also played her final collegiate game with Bethel.
