ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — Bethel University's volleyball team kept their postseason hopes alive Wednesday night with a sweep over Macalester. The Royals (16-5, 5-3 MIAC) and Scots (7-17, 0-8 MIAC) kept things interesting as the three games were decided by a total of seven points, but in the end BU came out with a 25-22, 25-23, and 26-24 victory.

Bethel was in control throughout all three sets, but a late run by Macalester in each game kept the crowd on the edge of their seat. The Royals, who hit .263 throughout the match, garnered 58.0 points on 45 kills, eight aces, and five blocks. BU also collected 41 assists and 48 digs.

Brooke Olstad charted an exceptional all-around performance as the junior composed eight kills, three aces, and a team-high 13 digs, while hitting .350 throughout the match.
Tina Hoppe delivered seven kills, six digs, and an astonishing four aces.

Kristin Stern delivered a team-high 11 kills in 24 attempts (.250) and fellow middle
Maria Claflin was right behind with nine in 15 attempts (.533).

Bailey Israelson led Bethel with 23 assists and seven digs, while
Mikayla Morrow finished with 16 assists and four digs. Sophomore libero
Dominique Dabu posted eight digs.

BU's season continues Friday with a huge match at St. Thomas. The Royals and No. 20-ranked Tommies are scheduled to begin their conference match at 7 p.m.
