Pipers Take 1-0 Victory in Hard Fought Battle with Bethel
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Bethel University men's soccer team fell at home by a 1-0 score to the Hamline University Pipers in a very evenly played game. The Royals and Pipers battled it out and in the end a great individual effort by Hamline's Adam King, one of the leading scorers in the MIAC, was the difference. King's goal came in the 22nd minute. The Royals had several good chances early, putting two shots on goal but just missing. In all Hamline held a slim 7-6 shot advantage.
Jakob Bartels made three saves for the Royals.
Bethel's next contest will come this Saturday when they host Macalester College at 1 p.m. at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex. The loss on Wednesday leaves Bethel with a 3-8-2 overall record and 1-4-1 in the MIAC.
