NORTHFIELD, Minn.—Bethel University's women's basketball team earned its 14th victory of the season Wednesday evening in Northfield thanks to a 67-44 win at St. Olaf College. The Royals (14-4, 9-2 MIAC) shot 44.4 percent throughout the night, while holding the Oles (6-12, 2-9 MIAC) to just 28.1 percent shooting, which led to the 23-point margin.
Play was back-and-forth for the first 13 minutes of the game, but a 10-2 run for the Royals that was sparked by a 3-pointer from
Angie Kirchoff at the 6:08 mark in the second quarter gave Bethel plenty of breathing room throughout the remainder of the half. BU then outscored St. Olaf 22-12 in the third frame thanks to an 11-2 run during the final five minutes and that proved to ice the Royals' eighth road win.
Senior
Shanni Moorse led all players with 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting and six rebounds.
Angie Kirchoff poured in 12 and three assists, while
Abby Miller and
Taite Anderson each added 11. Anderson also padded her stat sheet with five boards, four steals, and three assists.
Bethel finished 24-of-54 (44.4 percent) from the floor and 9-of-24 (37.5 percent) from outside the arc. The Royals also made 10-of-14 (71.4 percent) free throw attempts.
