MOORHEAD, Minn.—Bethel University's women's basketball team picked up their second consecutive victory Wednesday evening thanks to a 75-58 victory over Concordia College in Moorhead. The Royals (12-4, 7-2 MIAC) shot 50 percent from the floor and 53.3 percent from downtown, which proved to be the difference in their win over the Cobbers (5-11, 2-7 MIAC).
Bethel's defense played a significant role throughout the game, as Concordia shot just 32 percent in the first half and suffered 14 turnovers throughout the game. The Royals swiped three steals, led by
Abby Miller and
Shanni Moorse who finished with three and two, respectively, and swatted four blocks, thanks to a pair from
Hannah Johnson and Moorse.
Taite Anderson managed to score in double figures for the ninth time this season, as the freshman led BU with 16 four rebounds, and two assists. Anderson, who went 5-of-8 from the field, was one of six players to score, as all six scored eight or more points. In addition to the Anderson,
Hannah Johnson and
Shanni Moorse each put up 15 points to go along with their six and five rebounds, respectively.
Abby Miller added 11 points,
Angie Kirchoff 10, and
Jasmin Bretoi eight.
The Royals look to keep their two game winning streak in tact as they welcome Hamline to the Robertson Center on Saturday, January 21 at 1 p.m.
