ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Bethel University men's hockey team fell on the road Thursday night to the Saint John's University Johnnies by a 5-2 score. The Johnnies scored four consecutive goals in the second and third periods to pull away from the Royals. After a scoreless first period, both teams traded goals within the first 2:19 of the second period.
Adam Marty scored for Bethel with
Jay Paul and
Al Nejmeh assisting. From there SJU scored twice more in the second and twice in the third period to make it 5-1 before the Royals were able to score their second goal.
Tyler Mros scored with just under two minutes remaining in the game with assists from
Jeff Flicker and
Dallas Marvin.
The Royals and Johnnies will continue the MIAC series on Saturday night in Bethel University Arena at the National Sports Center in Blaine. The puck will drop at 7 p.m.
