Huge Fourth Quarter Lifts Bethel to 86-57 Win over Wildcats

Bethel University's women basketball team gained a huge road win over St. Catherine University Saturday afternoon. The Royals (11-4, 6-2 MIAC) turned on the engines as they took down the Wildcats (10-5, 4-4 MIAC) by a final score of 86-57. BU won each quarter against St. Kate's, but a 26-9 scoring difference in the final frame proved to be more than enough to pull out the conference victory.

Bethel's defense played a major factor throughout the game as they only allowed the Wildcats 57 points. Hannah Johnson and Taite Anderson both had two blocks, while the entire team held SCU's leading scorer LaShay Holt to nine points. The

The Royals performed exceptionally on offense as well, shooting 54.2 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from the three-point arc and 66.7 percent from the line. Jasmin Bretoi had a team-high 18 points after shooting 60 percent from the field and 5-of-9 beyond the arc. Meanwhile Shanni Moorse had 17 points, one assist and one block and Abby Miller finished with 14 points and five assists.

Hannah Johnson continued her phenomenal stretch, as the sophomore forward recorded 18 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two blocks in her 34 minutes played. Taite Anderson had seven points, seven boards, two assists, and two blocks in her 33 minutes played.

The Royals continue their season on the road next Wednesday when they travel to Moorhead, Minn., to take on Concordia College in the Cobbers' Memorial Auditorium at 5:45 p.m.
