SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Bethel University men's hockey team traveled north to take on the University of Wisconsin-Superior Saturday night and were defeated 4-1 by the Yellowjackets. UWS scored twice in the first period and twice more in the second before the Royals were able to score their lone goal late in the second period on a power play.
Jeff Flicker scored the Royals goal with assists from
Tyler Mros and
Dallas Marvin.
Joe Sheppard made 38 saves in net for the Royals, including 15 in the scoreless third period.
The Royals will now turn their attention back to MIAC play as the loss to UW-Superior is the final non-conference game of the season. Bethel will travel to face Saint John's University for a Thursday night contest to open the MIAC series with the Johnnies. The Royals will then host SJU on Saturday night. Both games start at 7 p.m.
