MINNEAPOLIS - The Bethel University women's hockey team was defeated by the MIAC leading Augsburg College Auggies by a 4-1 score Friday night. The Auggies took the MIAC series opening game on their home ice by scoring once in each of the first two periods and then twice in the third to pull away from the Royals. Bethel's lone goal came early in the third period when Kaitlyn VanTassel scored on the power play from
Lauren Kolak.
The loss is the third in a row for the Royals, a season high losing streak, as they fall to 6-6-2 overall and 3-2-2 in the MIAC. Augsburg, who has spent time in the USCHO Top 10 poll this year, improves to 10-4-0 and 6-1 in the MIAC. The two teams will faceoff again on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. in Bethel University Arena.
