Royals Post Fourth Straight Shutout in 8-0 Rout of Northland

ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - Bethel University dominated Northland College Saturday afternoon at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex 8-0. It did not take long for the Royals to get the scoring started, when Kevin Hintz made a nice cross two minutes in and Joshua de la Rosa scored yet another goal for the Royals. De la Rosa has scored all four of his season goals in the last four games, all Bethel victories. A few minutes later the Royals were right back on the attack and Brendon Reich scored a goal putting the Royals up 2-0 five minutes in. From there the rout was on, Bethel added two more goals in the first half, one by Connor Miller and the other by Connor Nelson. Kevin Hintz assisted on both of those goals as well as he finished the game with two goals and four assists.

"This was a very good response after our disjointed performance yesterday against Crown," Coach Iwaszkowiec said. "I thought we were mentally prepared. Our offensive rhythm was much better and we scored a number of quality goals."

The second half the Royals continued their dominance over the Lumberjacks. Hintz scored twice in the second half, and Connor Nelson and Brendon Reich added their second goals as well. Bethel fired 25 shots on goal compared to the Lumberjacks seven. The Royals have pitched a shutout in each game of their four-game winning streak.

"I am very pleased with the shutout and thought we were very good defensively," Coach Iwaszkowiec said. "We attacked the flanks well. Our crosses were much crisper today and our runs in the box were much more dynamic."

The Royals will be back in action on Wednesday where they will start MIAC play against St. Olaf at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex. Kickoff will be at 4 pm.
