Player Profile Video Interview with 2016 Women's Soccer Seniors
The Bethel University women's soccer team is scheduled to open up their 2016 campaign on the road this week with contests in the Chicago area on Thursday and Sunday. Today the MIAC released their 2016 MIAC women's soccer preview and preseason coaches poll. Coming off a tough 2015 season, the Royals have a lot to prove this year as they will look to make a return to competing for an MIAC playoff spot, which they secured in the 2014 season.
The Royals will be led by a trio of seniors in two-time All-MIAC honorable mention midfielder
Mikala Smith, defender
Andrea Pearson and defender/forward
Mikayla Nordin while welcoming a total of 11 new players to the squad. Included in the newcomers is a pair of goalkeepers in
Kaylee Peterson and
Dylan Melby, with Melby expected to get the starting nod to begin the year.
Following the first three games of the season, which all have the Royals on the road, Bethel will return home for five consecutive home contests beginning on Saturday, September 10th at 1 p.m. against Northland College.
