ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Bethel University women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory over Macalester College on Thursday evening, taking their record to 15-3 on the season. The Royals are now 3-3 against MIAC opponents with four conference matches remaining on the schedule.
"The ladies came out ready to play tonight and really controlled the action from start to finish. It was a total team effort as well as a convincing performance heading into the weekend," said head coach

Bethel jumped out to an early lead after snatching all three doubles points in the early going. The Royals captured a pair of 8-2 victories in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles contests and were able to engineer a comeback despite falling into a 5-7 deficit in the No. 2 doubles match. The team of

Anna Browning eventually pulled out a 9-8 win in the tiebreaker to give the Royals a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
Bethel continued their dominant play in singles as they swept all six singles points and won five of the matches in straight sets.
Samantha Hindt closed out the competition with an 11-9 victory in the third-set tiebreaker, highlighting an important win for the Royals.
Bethel will play again on Saturday as they take on St. Catherine University at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex. The match is slated to start at 10:30 a.m. as the Royals look to continue their playoff push.
