Box scoreMINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's tennis team took their second MIAC victory of the season with a 6-3 win over Saint Mary's University. The Royals got come from behind wins at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to get things rolling heading into singles play. Bethel took four of the six singles matches.

Bethel's No. 1 doubles team of
Kristin Vivian and
Abby Kreklau fell 8-4 but the Royals took the other two matches by 8-5 scores. The No. 2 doubles team of
Mattie Kidder and Maddy Simpson along with No. 3 doubles
Kourtney Jakubic and Anna Browing both found themselves behind early but were able to come back to give Bethel a 2-1 advantage heading to singles play.
Bethel's No. 6 singles player
Anna Browning was the first off the court with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 victory.
Kristin Vivian at No. 1 singles picked up a great win by a 6-3, 6-0 score.
Mattie Kidder gave Bethel their fifth point with a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 4 singles. The Cardinals were able to take victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles by 6-0, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-0 scores over
Kourtney Jakubic and
Abby Kreklau. The lone match to go into the third-set tiebreaker was at No. 5 singles with
Larissa Voss coming out on top for Bethel. Voss dropped the first set 3-6 but responded with a 6-1 second set victory and won the tie break 10-5.
The win improves the Royals to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in MIAC competition. They will face Hamline University next Friday evening back at the Baseline Tennis Center at the University of Minnesota.
