WINONA, Minn. – The Bethel University men's hockey team traveled to Winona, Minnesota looking to rebound from Friday nights defeat at the hands of the Saint Mary's University Cardinals but did not fair any better on Saturday, falling by a 9-1 score. The lone goal of the night for Bethel was scored by
Taylor Brown on a Royals power play in the middle of the second period.
Travis Payne and
Nick Eytcheson assisted on the score. For the game, Bethel went just 1-8 on their power play opportunities in the game while Saint Mary's was 1-6. SMU scored three times in the first 14 minutes and never looked back.
Bethel remains winless on the season as they get set to take on the preseason favorite and defending MIAC champion University of St. Thomas next weekend. The Royals play at UST on Friday before hosting the Tommies Saturday night.
