ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn – The Bethel University men's soccer team exploded for four goals in the second period Tuesday evening after playing to 0-0 tie at the end of the first period in their victory over Crown College. The Royals dominated the shot totals at 14-1 for each of the two halves and 28-2 for the game, but the second period was when Bethel converted on the opportunities.

Tim Ness broke the ice for Bethel as he scored on a header of a
Danny Jaderholm free kick just under four minutes into the second half.
Ryan Ness then converted a penalty kick at 55:06 to give the Royals the two score lead. Less than a minute later,
Connor Miller scored his first career goal off an assist from
Brendan Reich. The final blow for Bethel came with under a minute left when
Adam Doehrmann scored unassisted.
The four goals was a season high for Bethel as the Royals have now won two in a row to improve to 3-6-2 overall. They will look to keep the momentum rolling when they host the Saint John's University Johnnies on Saturday afternoon at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex. SJU just fell out of the national Top-25 rankings after a tie with Carleton but still stands at 8-1-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the MIAC. The match will start at 1 p.m.
