MINNEAPOLIS—The Bethel University men's basketball team utilized an overall team performance to dominate Augsburg College on the road Saturday by a final tally of 83-60.

The Royals not only outscored the Auggies 42-22 in the opening half, but also held them to just five points in the initial 8:47 of the second. Leading 62-27 with 11:23 remaining in the game, BU went on to rout Augsburg by over 20 points.

Bethel shot 54 percent throughout the game, including a 43.5 percent mark from outside the 3-point arc.
Jared Nelson went 3-for-4 in the game's opening five minutes, while
Brycen Wojta finished 3-for-3 and
Trevor Hall 3-for-6 downtown.

Four players scored in double figures throughout the matinee, but it was
Kyle Zimmermann that had another banner day with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Saturday's double-double was his fourth consecutive (fifth this season) and his 18th consecutive game scoring in double figures.

Brycen Wojta not only went perfect from long range, but he also went perfect from the floor. Wojta finished with 15 points on 6-of-6 shooting, alongside five assists and three rebounds.
Trevor Hall and
Jared Nelson each finished in double figures as well, with Hall scoring 15 points and Nelson pouring in 11.

Defensively, BU forced Augsburg to shoot just 37 percent from the floor and 30 percent from the 3-point line. Bethel also outrebounded the Auggies 39-27, which led to a 17-6 margin in second chance points.

Now 8-3 on the season and 4-2 in conference play, Bethel will continue its road show with a midweek contest against Macalester College on Wednesday, January 14 at 7 p.m.Â
