MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – The Bethel University women's hockey team could not pull off the series sweep of first place St. Thomas, falling on the road 3-2 Saturday afternoon. Four of the games five goals were scored in the first period as the teams skated to a 2-2 tie. St. Thomas scored the game winner just two minutes into the second period as neither team would score again.

Kalie Johnson for the score but that was the last tally for Bethel. Both goaltenders made 29 saves but the Tommies outshot Bethel 32-31.
The Royals now find themselves four points behind both St. Thomas and Gustavus in the MIAC standings. The Tommies and Gusties square off next weekend before Bethel takes on Gustavus in the final weekend of the regular season. Bethel will face the College of Saint Benedict next weekend.
