Bethel Shutout at St. Kate's, 2-0

Box Score

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Bethel University women's hockey team could not find a repeat performance from Friday nights 6-1 victory, as they were shutout 2-0 Saturday at St. Catherine University. After racking up 18 goals in their last four games the Royals were shutout for just the second time this year. St. Kate's scored a power play goal in the first period and added an empty netter with just five seconds left. Hannah Okerstrom scored both goals for the Wildcats who pulled within three points of the Royals and remain tied for fourth place with Concordia in the MIAC standings.
"The puck did not bounce our way today," Bethel head coach Brian Carlson said.

Bethel outshot St. Kate's 19-15 after taking 33 shots the night before but were unable to get one in the net. Erika Allen made 14 saves for Bethel. Both teams had three power play opportunities with the Wildcats converting on the first one.

The Royals (13-4-2, 9-3 MIAC) will take on new MIAC leader St. Thomas next weekend after the Tommies slipped past Augsburg and former leader Gustavus, was swept by Saint Benedict. The Blazers and Gusties will be the Royals opponents the following two weekends as they head down the home stretch just four points out of first place and two out of second.
