BLAINE, Minn. – The Bethel University women's hockey team was upset by the Augsburg College Auggies 2-0 Saturday afternoon despite getting double digit shots in each period. The No. 10 ranked Royals put up 32 shots on the Auggies but were unable to find the back of the net one time while Augsburg was able to capitalize on some second period opportunities.

Augsburg's first score came just 52 seconds into the second period and they added their second at 9:56 in the second. The Auggies two goals came off of just a total of six shots in the second period. Conversely, the Royals put up 12 shots in the first, and 10 shots in both the second and third periods. Each team had three power play opportunities but did not score during any of them.

The loss concludes a tough opening MIAC series for Bethel as they garnered just one goal and one point in the standings with Friday's tie and Saturday's loss. The Royals are now 2-2-1 overall and 0-1-1 in MIAC play while Augsburg captured their first win of the season and are 1-3-2 and 1-0-1 in the MIAC. Bethel will travel to Concordia College in Moorhead next weekend for a big matchup with the Cobbers.
