Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Bethel University women's soccer team was unable to pull out a victory for the second straight year over the University of St. Thomas, falling on the road 5-1. The Royals, who are looking for their first victory of the season, were hoping to duplicate last year's performance when Bethel knocked off the Tommies 1-0 in overtime. Wednesday evening was very different from the start however, as the Tommies scored their first goal just 40 seconds into the game.
UST added to their 1-0 lead with another goal 12 minutes later off a corner kick. Bethel was able to strike back just three and a half minutes later with a free kick goal by
Jessica Huseby. The score was the second of the year for Huseby. The games stayed within reach for the Royals until UST added a third goal 15 minutes into the second half and two more within the last three minutes of the contest.
UST outshot Bethel just 11-10 in the game. The Royals put six shots on goal but just one score while the Tommies put five of their eight shots on goal in the net. Huseby led the Royals with three shots on goal.
Bethel will return home for their homecoming game Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex. The Royals will host the Fighting Scots from Macalester College. Live video and stats can be found
