Caroline Kivisto scored Bethel's lone goal in the second period to tie the game at one a piece after the Cardinals took the early lead mid-way through the first period.
Bethel outshot SMU 40-29 and had five power plays compared to just two for Saint Mary's but were unable to take advantage of the opportunities. Bethel had just four shots on goal during their power plays. Kivisto's goal was her MIAC leading 13th of the season.
