MINNEAPOLIS – The Bethel University women's soccer team found themselves in an early hole after conceding two goals within the first 12 minutes of a 2-1 loss at Augsburg College. Playing under the lights of Augsburg's Edor Nelson Field the unbeaten Auggies came out quickly as they scored their first goal at 6:36 and added another less than five minutes later. The win improved Augsburg to 6-0-3 on the season while the Royals fall to 2-3 and 0-2 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) play.
Suzette Anderson scored her first goal of the season for the Royals at 35:38 in the first period to draw the Royals within a goal but neither team scored the rest of the way. Augsburg outshot Bethel 24-6.
Micale Jensen made seven saves in goal for Bethel.
Bethel will take Sunday off before returning home to host the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Monday in a non-conference tilt. The match will begin at 4 p.m. at the Ona Orth Athletic Complex.
