MOORHEAD, Minn.—Despite upending Concordia College 3-1 in the 2013 Bethel University Invitational two weeks ago, Bethel's volleyball squad surrendered an 0-3 setback against Concordia-Moorhead Saturday at Olson Forum. Despite finishing the match with a .116 hitting percentage as a team, the Royals (7-7, 0-2 MIAC) had a chance in the first and second set. Yet in the end, the Cobbers (10-4, 2-0 MIAC) were too much—defeating BU by scores of 25-20, 28-26, 25-12.

Callie McKown had perhaps the best performance among all Bethel team members—finishing the competition with eight kills and a .571 attacking mark.
Carlee Hoppe recorded nine kills and 15 digs, while also tallying a service ace and solo block.
Freshmen setters
Ashlyn Hucky and
Katie Lubben continued to share the setting duties, as Hucky finished the match with 19 assists and Lubben, 15.
Kali Johnson led the Royals with 17 digs, while
Kari Blom and
Lindsay Kerr each finished the contest with two blocks.

Concordia's Olivia Wangesteen managed 12 kills and 11 digs for the Cobbers.

Bethel will travel down Snelling Ave. next Friday night to take on Macalester College at 7 p.m., before returning home Saturday afternoon to host St. Catherine in a conference matinee at 3 p.m.
