Another One Goal Loss for Bethel, 3-2 at Concordia

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Bethel University men's hockey team fell for the fifth time by one goal this season in a 3-2 loss at Concordia College. The Cobbers scored once in each period while the Royals scored in the first and third periods but were shutout in the second. Josh Freitas and Brock Raffaele scored their first goals of the season for Bethel.

Concordia got on the scoreboard first as they converted a power play into a 1-0 lead at 15:18 in the first period. Just 1:40 later Freitas scored on assists by Jordan Bledsoe and Grant Dye to even things up. The game remained tied until 18:10 in the second period when another Cobber power play goal resulted in a 2-1 lead. In the third period, Concordia stretched their lead to 3-1 with an even strength goal at 6:23 by Caleb Suderman, his seventh of the year. The Royals didn't quit however, has Brock Raffaele scored his eighth point but first goal of the season with a minute and a half left in the game. Colin Mayer and Travis Payne assisted Raffaele. Bethel was unable to get the equalizer in the remaining 85 seconds and fell to 0-7-1 on the year.

The Royals will be in action over Thanksgiving weekend as they travel to Mequon, Wisconsin to take on Concordia (Wis.) University. Bethel will play at 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
