RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Bethel University women's soccer team traveled to River Falls, Wisconsin to take on the UW-River Falls Falcons in a Sunday afternoon matchup and were defeated 3-1. The Falcons scored a pair of second half goals to break a 1-1 tie at the half. The Royals outshot the Falcons 19-16 in the game.

The Falcons got on the scoreboard first with a goal at 30:51. Less than two minutes later the Royals answered as Jessica Huseby (So., Medina, Minn.) scored off an assist from Emma Blanchard (So., Decorah, Iowa). UW-River Falls then scored the game winner 10 minutes into the second period and added their third goal three minutes later.

“River Falls was a fast, athletic team,” said Royals head coach Amanda Maxwell. “We did not come out and play well in the second half and they did.”

With the loss the Royals fall to 2-4-1 on the season. Bethel will return to Wisconsin on Wednesday evening to face UW-Stout in Menomonie. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
