Moorhead, Minn. – The Royals' MIAC playoff run ended abruptly Tuesday, as Concordia College defeated BU 3-0 in Memorial Auditorium. Bethel (19-13, 6-5 MIAC), who ended the regular season ranked No. 6, was unable to get a sound offensive attack going—finishing with a hitting percentage of .018. Conversely, Concordia (13-10, 7-4 MIAC) finished with an attacking mark of .340 and posted eight blocks as a team—something Bethel is typically known for.
 
The Royals' two senior middle blockers led BU Tuesday night as Amy Baumetz (Three Lakes, Wis.) posted nine kills and one block, along with the team's best hitting percentage (.231). Meanwhile Caitie Helle (Onamia, Minn.) finished with seven kills and two blocks against the Cobbers.
 
Val Smith (Sr., Alexandria, Minn.) was Tuesday night's leader in digs, composing 18 digs to secure her season total of 6.05 digs/set—one of just two players to record an average over 6.0 within the league.
