ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – Bethel University's volleyball team travels to Moorhead, Minn. Tuesday night to take on the Concordia College Cobbers in the opening round of the 2012 MIAC Volleyball Playoffs. The Royals (19-12, 6-5 MIAC) will enter Memorial Auditorium as the No. 6 seed in this year's postseason, while the hosting Cobbers (12-10, 7-4 MIAC) are seeded No. 3.
The 7 p.m. competition will be a rematch of September 19, when BU fell to CC 3-1 in Moorhead. Before that, these two teams met in Moorhead for the 2011 NCAA Division III Regional, where the Cobbers sent Bethel home with a 3-0 loss, after defeating Northwestern (Minn.) in the opening round of the Championships.
With a berth in the MIAC playoffs, Bethel has now made the conference tournament in back-to-back years – something that hasn't been accomplished since the 2002-2003 seasons. In addition, the Royals will be looking to get its first win against the Cobbers at Moorhead since 2001.
