Women's Soccer Continues to Build Momentum Defeating Crown 6-0

ST. BONIFACIOUS, Minn. - The women's soccer team continued to improve today as they handily defeated the Crown College Storm by a final score of 6-0. The Royals didn't waste any time getting on the board as Anne Fazio (Jr., Holland, Mich.) scored of a corner kick the 49 second mark.

Senior Sophie Christiansen (Portland, Ore.) and junior Kelsey Flaherty (Shoreview, Minn.) continued to lead the Bethel offense as they combined for 21 shots. Fazio lead the team with five shots on goal.

Coming off the bench and getting in the action was Jessica Husbey (Fr., Medina, Minn.) scoring two goals for the Royals.

The Bethel women controled this game from start to finish, racking up 69 shots while not allowing Crown to even attempt a single shot. Crown's goalie Hillary Brondesma played all 90 minutes with 21 saves.

The Royals will be back in action on Friday when they play at home for the first time in 2011. Friday's game against Simpson College is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
