Michelle Hentges (Sr., Andover, Minn.). The goal broke the games 1-1 tie, but seconds later the Royals had a little more room to breathe after
Kelsey Flaherty (Jr., Shoreview, Minn.) drilled another goal unassisted off a rebounded shot.
The Royals out shot the Beavers 26-3 as the controlled the ball for the majority of play. Senior goal keeper
Alyssa Riggs (Columbia Heights, Minn.) had to saves in the game, while only allowing a single goal, which came from Buena Vista's Shelby Ripperger. Ripperger also had two of BV's three shots in the game.
Sophie Christiansen (Sr., Portland, Ore.) scored the first goal for Bethel at just past the 53 minute mark. Chrstiansen had four shots on the day, only second on the team to Flaherty who had six. Carrie Kishaba (Sr., Eau Claire, Wis.) also had four shots in today's game.
The Bethel women will be back in action tommorow as they face Bethany Lutheran as part of day two of the BVU Classic.
